Local Pizza is a welcome oasis in the northern suburbs of Hobart if you can't afford to eat at nearby MONA. Wood fired pizza consumes the menu space here and they are good. The flour is the best you can buy and they hand stretch the dough as thinly as possible.
Some of the toppings are too complicated for our simple tastes (Adonis has garlic, slow cooked lamb, feta, red onion, kalamata olives, rosemary, oregano, mozzarella) but there is something to appeal to everyone.
We like the simplicity of Nudie with nduja, oregano and mozzarella and the Marg with mozzarella and basil. If you are into an Australian favourite such as ham and pineapple then they have a Porkipine with free range leg ham, pineapple and mozzarella.
They also stock wines from nearby Lubiana (try their excellent Pinot Noir) and Moorilla which you can consume on the premises or take away.
