Clever Polly's is a charming little wine bar, wine shop and restaurant in North Melbourne that offers Melbourne's an exciting selection of natural wines for consumption on the premises or to take away.
The space is named after the children's book "Clever Polly and the Stupid Wolf" by Catherine Store because part-owner Lou Chalmers liked the way that Polly always stayed one step ahead of the wolf.
The wines are arranged along the wall in front of the solid bar made from beautiful old timber. The wines range from France to Italy to Georgia and the United States as well as a solid selection of exciting new wines from Australia including some of our favourites such as those from Tom Shobbrook and Domaine Lucci.
And this is not just a place to sit and have a snack. We often drop in and have a glass of wine and a snack during the day, but now you can enjoy an interesting array of food via their new Omakase menu that is available in the evenings.
They have sittings at 5:30pm, 7pm and 8:30pm in the evening where you leave the choice of food to the chef and the choice of wines to the floor manager. It should make for an engaging evening.
