The Quartermasters Arms is a casual, relaxed yet interesting venue for sampling interesting wines and a range of hard-to-find beers. Run by Stuart Addison it is a welcome addition to the Hobart bar and dining scene.
Since it first opened it has morphed into a bar cum eatery with lots and lots of interesting beers to try and some interesting wines. Try relaxing in one of the armchairs on the footpath or sit at the large communal table inside.
The menu has also moved up a notch with hamburgers giving way to interesting small plates such as grilled wild asparagus with coddled egg or grilled quail with onion rings or larger plates such as crispy skinned chicken or sustainabble fish and chips or new seasons spring lamb shoulder.
Note that they also have a retail licence whch allows you to buy beer and wine to take home.
