Monsoon, crouched below a non-descript commercial building in Capitol Hill, Seattle this starkly-designed Asian restaurant has become a favourite for locals seeking the elusive tastes of Asian food - we say elusive because it is so hard to find authentic Asian food in the US. The food here is mainly Vietnamese with touches from other countries as well.
This restaurant does a particularly good pho - that iconic one bowl dish that revives and restores jaded customers. The depth of flavour that is packed into this dish suggests particualr care is taken with the production of this dish with lots of spices such as star anise detectable in the broth. But there is more as we can also find suggestions of the technique used in Vietnam of adding roasted whole onions to give added depth to the stock.
And, there is another benefit! The wine list will knock your socks off!
They also have an outlet at 10245 Main Street in Bellevue.
