Jean Paul Brun is a legend in the Beaujolais. He has made over thirty vintages so knows the area better than most. His 2009 wines were a triumph! The Moulin a Vent Beaujolais Cru was one of the best wines from the area that we have ever tried. In fact all his wines are very, very special. He also has vineyards in three other crus namely, Cote du Brouilly, Morgon and Fleurie all of which are very finely made and expressive wines.
Another wine that is well worth trying is the white Beaujolais. Less than 5% of the vines in Beaujolais are given over to Chardonnay and the Beaujolais Classic Blanc from Brun is an excellent wine that has spent some time on lees to add complexity at a very reasonable price.
