Domaine Stephane Guion
Natural wine
Address: Benais, 37140
Country: France

Domaine Stéphane Guion is the domaine of Stéphane Guion whose family has run this estate for many generations. It was one of the first vineyards in the Loire Valley to be certified as organic (1965). He only produces two cuvees of red wine from his aged vines which range from 35 to 80 years old.
Stéphane is a quiet, thoughtful man who takes his winemaking very seriously and we think that results speak for themselves. All his vines lie within the Bourgueil appellation which allows only red wine made from Cabernet Franc and a little Cabernet Sauvignon. Stéphane, however, prefers and only uses Cabernet Franc.
His vineyards are tended using strict organic principles and his wines are vinified in the amazing cellars that lie beneath the village of Benais where he lives. He uses only natural yeasts from the vineyards and cellar to ferment his wines thus ensuring that they are completely natural.
He only produces the Domaine Stéphane Guion Bourgueil Cuvee Domaine Rouge and the Domaine Stéphane Guion Bourgueil Cuvee Prestige Rouge both of which are 100% Cabernet Franc.
These are some of the best-value natural wines you will find anywhere.
