Liaison Café next door is bigger and brighter but whenever we arrive in this dimly-lit, umbrella-strewn lane we always head straight for Degraves Espresso Bar. It is because it is relaxed about itself and its customers. It knows that people come here for good food and coffee and they know that they can deliver.We sit on one of the red, tubular metal chairs under an umbrella at one of the eclectic variety of tables and order an espresso crafted from Grinders coffee. Or, on really cold days, we head for one of the old theatre seats inside. We might accompany that with a San Pellegrino and at breakfast time a huge bowl of porridge with banana and honey.At lunch time it will be another coffee and one of their excellent panini.
