Vin de Pays des Coteaux Charitois is a relatively new Vin de Pays in the département of Nievre. It is centered around the town it is named after, La Charité-sur-Loire, which lies on the right bank of the Loire just south of Pouilly-sur-Loire.
The extent of the appellation is quite limited with only a few hectares being planted to vines.
As would be expected from its location, the grape varieties grown here are a cross between the eastern Loire grape types of Gamay and Sauvignon blanc and the Burgundian Pinot noir and Chardonnay.
