Domaine de Gramenon wines are crafted by Michele Laurent at her vineyard in the Drome near Vinsobres. The results are precise, vibrant natural wines that are some of the most delicious in France.
We first tried a Domaine de Gramenon Côtes du Rhône red at the Basque restaurant L'Ami Jean in Paris which has a very good list including a number of the best natural wines. We immediately sat up and took notice of this maker as the wine stood out like a beacon. We later attended a wine fair in the town of Avellon in France where Michele was showing her wines and got to know them even better.
Look for the entry level Poignee de Raisin and Sierra du Sud or one of the cuvees such as Cuvee des Laurentides or the Hauts de Gramenon.
We have seen or tried their wines in a number of restaurants including the Ribouldingue in Paris, Le Bonheur Suit Son Cours in Vaison-la-Romaine, Le Tourne au Verre in Cairanne (where we enjoyed their white Côtes du Rhône) and Le Chateaubriand in Paris.
Their wines are imported to the United States by Kermit Lynch and to Australia by Andrew Guard.
