B44 is a cheery, welcoming restaurant serving serious tapas in the downtown area. At lunch time, Belden Place is packed with locals from nearby offices. It is a very pleasant place to have lunch if the sun is shining and the wind is lurking elsewhere.
The tapas-style dishes are ideal for lunch and also ideal for sharing.
Try dishes such as padron peppers with fried okra, cured Serrano ham with tomato, Atlantic cod cheeks with garlic, parsley, chilli and sherry, grilled morcilla (blood) sausage with baby white beans or the brilliant white anchovies with pears and piquant Basque Idiazábal cheese.
If none of these tempt you then you can order a paella.
The wine list is Spanish-only but there are some interesting choices available from the list including some refreshing txakoli.
