Billy Kwong is a good, fun place to eat where some very good Asian food can be tried amid noisy, yet amiable surroundings. You will find it in the centre of the Potts Point eating strip. We first enjoyed Kylie's food when she used to be in charge of the stoves at Neil Perry's sprawling Wockpool. We had many enjoyable meals there. Now she has her own restaurant in leafy Potts Point and is a media star as well as stellar chef.
The menu is quite extensive and these days reflects Kylie's attraction to native Australian ingredients cooked using Asian techniques. Dishes we have particularly enjoyed include steamed vegetable and Warrigal greens dumplings, crispy saltbush cakes, steamed silken tofu, braised wallaby and spanner crab with house-made XO sauce.
There is an extensive wine list including many natural wines from Australia and Europe.
