Peter and Brenda Bosworth were pioneers of the wine industry in this region of Tasmania. They planted Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Petit Verdot. They then went on to produce some of the finest wines in the state, especially their Pinot Noir. The vineyard is set in a 45 hectare property near Richmond. It is on the Middle Tea Tree Road in an area that many see as having great potential for grape growing due to the underlying limestone layer and good exposure to the sun.The stunning Pinot Noir is made from a variety of clones which are vinified separately each year and then blended to make the final offering. The latest tasting of this wine exhibited power and structure and savoury overtones along with a long, satisfying finish. And don't ignore their riesling either. It is a fine wine with a crisp acidity that is very appealing. The Cabernets is also a fine wine and one of very few in Tasmania that achieves that flavour and texture that only comes when the grapes ripen properly. The wine is made from the three 'Bordeaux varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
