The Apsley Gorge Vineyard is one of Tasmania's best producers of high quality Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines.
It was conceived by an abalone diver with a passion for Burgundian wines who realised his dream on Tasmania's stunningly beautiful East Coast just near the Douglas Apsley National Park, north of Bicheno.
Here he produces big, beautifully-structured Pinot Noir and a classic Chardonnay.
One of our most memorable food experiences was sitting at their cellar door overlooking the delightful Bicheno Gulch eating freshly cooked crayfish perfectly matched with a glass or two of their impressive Chardonnay.
The vines are also exhibiting some age having been planted for 20 years.
