The Jean-Francois Merieau Touraine Sauvignon Blanc is one of the best examples of wine made from this grape in the Touraine appellation.
Jean-Francois is a young winemaker who tends his vineyard using organic viticulture. He also hand picks the grapes rather than rely on the mechanical harvesters that are so common in this region.
The wine is a classic of its genre and displays all the characteristics you would expect of a good Sancerre rather than a Touraine.
