Vernaccia di Serrapetrona is a small DOC wine appellation in the central inland part of the Marche region of Italy. The sparkling red wine of this appellation is based on the Vernaccia di Serrapetrona grape (Vernaccia Nera) although Montepulciano, Sangiovese and Ciliegiolo can be added in small quantities.
It is a slightly sweet wine that is perfect to use as a dessert wine on a warm summer's day.
