The Domaine du Tabatau Languedoc Vin de Pays des Monts de la Grage Geneviève is a white wine of some elegance and power. This wine has been crafted by Bruno and Jean-Paul Garcia who used to work for the famed Mas Dumas. They tend their vines organically.
The vineyard lies in the Saint Chinian region where Grenache Blanc, Chardonnay and Roussanne vines lead a confused existence bathed by warming Mediterranean breezes mixed with cold wild winds that tumble down from the towering Pyrenees.
This wine has lovely stone-fruit aromas and mineral notes derived from the Saint Chinian soils. It is a wonderful food wine. And it is yet another example of why you should never look askance at a Vin de Pays wine!
The book shown below is a good reference to the wines of France.
