The Siegerrebe grape variety is a clonal variant of the German Gewurztraminer grape. It is grown in Germany, England, Canada, Washington State and Tasmania - all cool climate locations. The reason for this is that the fruits ripens very early in the season. It produces spicy, citrus wines that are perfect for summer drinking.
Producers of wines made from this grape include Lopez Island Vineyards in Washington State, Recline Ridge in British Columbia and Palmara Vineyards in Tasmania.
