Charles Joguet Clos du Chene Vert Chinon is a red wine from the Loire Valley in France that reveals fine tannins, excellent structure and a long finish. There are spices revealed when first poured and the structure is complex yet elegant revealing the true nature of the Cabernet Franc grape from which it is made. Considerable care in the making of the wine is taken by Charles Joguet including the hand picking of the grapes to ensure uniform ripeness and the use of special small crates that ensure that the grapes are not damaged prior to pressing.
The Chinon appellation is situated near the city of Tours.
A twelve year old example of this wine was tasted recently by the editors of Foodtourist.com and it still exhibited youthful characteristics showing that it is capable of lasting a very long time indeed.
