The Domaine du Tremblay Quincy is a beautiful expression of the wonderful sauvignon blanc wines of this mid-Loire appellation. We are particularly keen on the wines from this appellation and seek them out whenever we can. And this is a particularly fine example with restrained fruit and acidity but deep, mouth-filling flavour that lingers long on the palate.
This is an excellent food wine. We tried it at the former Luck's restaurant in Launceston, Tasmania with a well-executed dish of pasta with clams. It worked perfectly.
While Quincy may not be as famous as Sancerre, there are some very smart wines produced here which sell at lower prices than their better known cousins.
