Francois Cazin Le Petit Chambord Cour-Cheverny white wine from the Loire Valley in France is worth seeking out for two reasons. The first is that it is a fine wine is its own right. The second is that it is one of the few wines available that are made from the Romorantin grape.
The grape has been known in the region since the sixteenth century although only a small area of plantings still remains.
The wine has a good acid underlay and a fine, mineral backbone.
