Prugnolo Gentile is a grape used in the production of red wine in the Montepulciano region of Italy. It is closely related to the Sangiovese grape and is thought to be indigenous to this area. It is sometimes called Sangiovese Grosso.
It is used, for example, in the lovely Fattoria Di Gracciano Svetoni Vino Nobile Di Montepulciano TorCalvano along with the more common Sangiovese Piccolo.
