Rivesaltes is a wine appellation in the beautiful region of Roussillon in southern France near the border with Spain. It is the source of some stunning sweet wines. The appellation was established in May 1972.
there is a bewildering array of grapes that are legal in this appellation including Maccabeu, Tourbat, Muscat a Petit Grain and Muscat d'Alexandrie for white wines and Grenache, Maccabeu and Tourbat for red wiens.
