Anton and Ivan Katunar combine modern technology with ancient grapes varieties in their winery in the village of Vrbnik on the picturesque island of Krk in Croatia.
The wine has citrus overtones and good acidity but is quite a demure wine. There is nothing overpowering or too forward about either the aroma or taste. It is a delicate, restrained and elegant wine - exactly the type of wine we like a lot.
And, at 10.5% alcohol it is the perfect wine to drink as an aperitif on a warm summer evening or to team with delicate shellfish dishes such as poached scallops or sashimi of sea bass.
