The Clos de Rochers Auxerrois is a still white wine exhibiting citrus and some tropical fruit on the nose and a light yellow hue in the glass. We are impressed by the long, lingering finish reminiscent of similar wines from Alsace.
We were introduced to this wine by Nick Hildebrandt at the fabulous Bentley Restaurant and Bar in Sydney. It is a very good food wine, is reasonably priced and has some curiosity value given its origins in Luxembourg.
The label is also worth checking out. It is the only wine you are likely to see that is classified as a 'Grand Premier Cru'.
