Emmanuel Darnaud is a rising star of the Rhone region and his Crozes-Hermitage "Les Trois Chenes" from the northern part of the Rhone is a fine example of his work. This is an elegant wine with fine tannins and a long, satisfying finish.
This is a great example of what a syrah/shiraz wine should be like. It is powerful without being too alcoholic - in fact one vintage we tried only had 12.5% alcohol. The end product is certainly the result of careful and meticulous wine making.
