Ruffino Riserva Ducale Gold Label is one of the finest Chianti Classico wines you can hope to find. The Ruffino Riserva Ducale Tan Label is the second label, but in the years when the Gold Label is not produced the grapes will be used in the production of this wine and will therefore be an added bargain. This happened, for example, in 2002 when no Gold Label wine was produced.
The Folonari family who have owned the Ruffino estates for around one hundred years are committed to quality and this shows through in all of their wines.
It is a bold Sangiovese wine with lots of floral and berry overtones but with fine, refined tannins and a long lingering finish. It represents excellent value for money.
