Dan Kosta and Michael Browne are producing some first rate pinot noirs in the Sonoma County of California by controlling every detail of the production at the gravity-fed wine making facility that they use.
They even control the hand-picking and sorting the bunches of grapes. The resultant wine is reminiscent of a Burgundy with considerable elegance and finesse yet at an accessible price.
This is a dense, dark pinot noir that starts with a distinct flavour of spicy cherries then moves to a long, velvet finish that is very appealing.
