The Kiltynane Pinot Noir 2004 from the upper Yarra Valley is an excellent example of how a pinot noir should be made. The vineyard lies on the upper slopes of the Yarra Valley near Healesville.
We are impressed by the fact that the vines are tended using organic principles and that irrigation is not carried out in the vineyard. We also like the fact that the wine has a sensible level of alcohol (12.8%) to produce an elegant, silky pinot in the classic style.
