The Domaine Le Clos du Caillou Tres Vieilles Vignes Reserve Cotes du Rhone is a rich opulent wine that could be mistaken for a Chateauneuf-du-Pape.
We tried this wine in the USA and fell in love with its dense rich opulence. It was on the menu at one of our favourite French restaurants outside France - Le Pichet in Seattle.
This is one of just a few domaines where the Cotes du Rhone vines are grown in the same terroir as the Chateauneuf du Pape but are separated from the appellation by the A7.
