Anise Wine Room is a tiny bar that has a very comfortable feel to it. Although it doesn't seat many people, it does serve very good food and an interesting array of drinks.
Large wooden stools with padded seats and backs make sitting at the bar a pleasure. You might snack on tapas dishes such as freshly shucked Moreton Bay oysters served with shallot vinaigrette, a lovely brandade made from barramundi and accompanied by a light tapenade or a roasted tomato and goats cheese tartlet. For a more major meal you might try the stiffed pigs trotters.
There are some interesting wines such as the Occhipinti SB68 white from Sicily, Patrick Sullivan's "Haggis" white and the Ochota Barrels Grenache Syrah from the Barossa Valley for example.
