Frank is a major addition to the Hobart dining scene. The first thing you will notice as you enter via the massive wooden door is the fun they have had with the design of the space. We love the garden gnome with pineapple, we adore the blue round table with the burnt wood chair, we look upwards to admire the large torch-shaped light fitting and we love the table-in-a-cage.
But while the impression might be of fun, don't be fooled. This is a very professional establishment, run by very experienced staff. It is the vision of Kif Weber, Scott McMurray and Scott Heffernan who are the team behind nearby Smolt.
They have an excellent drinks program ranging from interesting cocktails, well-chosen beers and ciders (by the bottle and on tap) and a good selection of local, interstate and overseas wines (some also available on tap).
The centrepiece of the food menu is an interesting selection of charcoal-grilled meats using cuts not often seen in a restaurant. We like the fact that cuts such as flank steak and hangar steak are on offer.
We look forward to further visits here.

The editors of supply some of the wines to Frank through their wine importing business Living Wines.
