Napoli Mia which lies just outside Avignon's imposing ramparts is a place to visit once you have heard the warnings! It might seem strange to recommend eating pizza in Avignon but Napoli Mia's pizza is so good it's worth it. It's a unique experience though. Its voluble owner's lively sense of 'humour' may not be to everyone's taste but, without a written menu, there's no alternative but to cooperate as he recites the day's dishes. However, the simple tomato and mozzarella pizza is, as they say, worth the journey (and the humouring).
