The Republic Bar and Café is cool. If you are sick of slick bars with designer architecture and you want to go somewhere where walking in will fill you with memories of times past then the Republic is where we head. Here you can sit down have a chat with friends and enjoy a beer or ten in surroundings that haven't been tricked up and that remain faithful to the working class roots of the hotel.A hugely popular venue that changes nature depending on the day's entertainment. A poetry reading one night might be followed by a rock band or jazz the next. Good, honest steak is available, together with a decent red wine.
