Our review is now obsolete because Michel has sold the shop and it has morphed into a cave a manger where you can buy wines or have a meal. Early reports are quite favourable and we look forward to visiting on our next trip to Paris.
=====================================
La Cave de l'Insolite is the place to go when you move from an appreciation of natural wines to a desire to test the outer limits of what these wines can offer. The owner, Michel Moulherat offers advice freely and has a deep knowledge of French natural wines.
This cave has become one of our first stops in our visits to Paris to find the latest natural producers and to tap into Michel's vast knowledge of natural wines. On one visit we were lucky enough to stumble into a private wine tasting of organic wines from the Savoie. It was during this tasting that we first experienced the delightful wines crafted by Dominique Belluard who is the only commercial producer of wines made with the Gringet grape in the world.
This area in the 11th is becoming a great place for food and wine lovers.
