Les Caprices de l'Instant is a wine store in the Marais just near the Bastille metro station that we took an instant liking to. We were intrigued by the interesting, well-priced selection of wines we found here, many of which are hard to find elsewhere. The owner is clearly interested in promoting smaller domaines with interesting wines. We were very impressed with the selection here!An example is the organic Clos Cristal from the Saumur Champigny appellation in the Loire. This Cabernet Franc wine is a prime example of the potential of the region. We also spied a Vinsobres red from Valerie and Phillippe Chaume-Arnaud who vinify their wines using traditional methods, eschewing stainless steel and new oak. There was also one of the highly rated wines by Patricia and Daniel Domergue, the Clos Centeilles from the Minervois appellation.The staff are very friendly and willing to spend time discussing the wines and recommending something that suits your mood.
