La Cave du Septier in the Provencal city of Apt is a treasure trove of interesting wines from throughout France. They have a particularly clever selection for the two appellations immediately adjacent to the city, namely Cotes du Ventoux and Cotes du Luberon but their selection extends to the rest of Provence, to the Languedoc and to both ends of the Loire as well as the more traditional areas of Bordeaux, Burgundy and Alsace.On a recent visit we were delighted to see the extraordinary wines made by Philippe Gimel from Domaine Saint Jean du Barroux and a Morgon by natural wine proponent Jean Foillard among many other interesting and well-priced wines.
