La Fromagerie du Comtat (Maison Vigier) is the delightful cheese shop that we always head to whenever we arrive in the Vaucluse. The staff are wonderful and always wanting to help. The treatment of the cheese is exemplary and the selection of local wines intelligent. They range from upmarket Chateauneuf-du-Pape selections to local Cotes du Ventoux stars such as Chateau Unang and Domaine de Berane.But it is not only excellent cheese and interesting wine that is on sale here. We also buy succulent Bigorre ham, perfect foie gras and the redoubtable Bordier milk products including their special butter.
