The Tsim Chai Kee Noodle Shop serves only three dishes. You can have prawn dumplings, fish dumplings or beef dumplings with either yellow, flat or vermicelli noodles. Whichever combination you choose you will be rewarded with feather-light dumplings and perfectly fresh noodles served in a lovely complex stock.One of the things we like here is that it is invariably filled with locals who come to enjoy the freshly made noodles, dumplings and wontons. We like to order the combination of white rice noodles with wontons and fish balls, but any combination is fine.There are two booths just inside the door against the left hand wall which are popular with the locals and then there are two large wooden tables in the centre which seat eight diners and two or three more tables down the right hand wall. If you arrive early the staff will probably be sitting at one of the tables making the wontons with effortless skill.They have opened a couple of branches recently including one on busy Queens Road, however our recent meal at the original Wellington St branch was fine.
