Jean-Pierre and Francois Perrin are responsible for some of the finest Chateauneuf du Pape and Cotes du Rhone wines that you can buy. The Chateau Beaucastel Coudoulet is one of our particular favourites that has a Cotes du Rhone appellation but the vineyard virtually borders the Chateauneuf du Pape vineyards. The Perrin brothers bought land south of Mount Ventoux many years ago recognising the potential of the plains around Mazan and Mormoiron that sweep towards the Luberon park from the 'sleeping giant'.The red wine they make here is comprised of 50% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 15% Carignan and 15% Cinsault and is a particularly attractive food wine of some finesse. We think that Cotes du Ventoux wines will soon be recognised throughout the world as representing great value for money.=====================Note that you can peruse all the wines recommended by foodtourist.com by choosing Wine from the Type list on our Home page.
