The food of Shanghai is a special treat for foodies seeking special food experiences. At the top end there is the refined re-interpretations of traditional Shanghai cuisine presented in up-market surroundings at superstar-chef Jereme Leung's Whampoa Club.

Or you can eat in a plethora of restaurants serving stunning regional food from every corner of China. Great Hunan food at Guyi Hunan Restaurant, local La Mian noodles at the wonderful Crystal Jade in Zintiandi, the best xiao long bao at the down-market but precious Jia Jia Tongbao, lion's head meatballs at Xia and fiery Sichuan cuisine at the Ba Guo Bu Yi Cuisine Restaurant in the pleasant Hongqiao area of Shanghai.
